Jump to platform faster? Gender, institutional change, and pre-entrant entrepreneurial attempt

Purpose The authors enrich and extend the existing institutional anomie theory (IAT) in hope of sharpening understanding joint effects selected cultural values social changes on women's pre-entrant entrepreneurial attempts. theorize that women are culturally discouraged to pursue attempts or wealth accumulation a specific culture. This discouragement creates an anomic strain motivates deviate from prescriptions by engaging at faster speed. Building this premise, hypothesize institutions facilitate means achievement for due potential opportunities inherent such changes. Design/methodology/approach Using randomly sample 1,431 registered active individual users with minimum 10,000 followers leading entertainment live-streaming platform People's Republic China, examined unique mix their speed engagement activity.
